Workshop results “The Future of Low-Energy Lifestyles” now online
The results of the workshop “The future of Low-Energy Lifestyles”, held in Brussels on June 27, are now available. The workshop, organized by the SPREAD Sustainable Lifestyles 2050 project and hosted by Claude Turmes - MEP of the Greens/EFA, gathered 30 expert representatives who discussed opportunities and challenges for future low-energy lifestyles, with an emphasis on research, business and policy.
The roles that research, new business models and policy both at the European and local level can play in fostering lifestyle changes has been broadly examined during the workshop and a lot of outputs has been collected from the discussions.
Summaries of key-notes by Claude Turmes (MEP) and Domenico Rosetti di Valdalbero (European Commission, DG Research and Innovation) are included. Moreover, the event linked the thinking of future sustainable lifestyles with the progress on the Energy Roadmap 2050, an initiative clarifying the choices that need to be made and supporting a European approach to these issues.
